You say you see your work evolving. Where are you now? Where do you see yourself going?

Ah, I wish I knew where I am now. Actually, being a comic artist doesn't allow the same freedom in the process. I LOVE it more than anything else, but comicking is more like a job (actually, it is one). Doing illustrations was absolutely free, so, the unexpected could come from it.

"Pinups After Work" by Bengal So maybe, one day, when I'm rich enough to have a break in my work (comics is a time eater), I'll go back to illustrations. Don't get me wrong: this would only be good for my drawing process. For storytelling matters, only comics will lead me to something better and new.
I wish I were known and famous for the way I do stories (timings, panels' configuration, actions' construction, etc.)...

You're already popular online, aren't you? And there's Meka now.

Yeah yeah, but, it's only the beginning. The internet makes it faster of course, but I know I am only a beginner.

What'd you like to improve on?

Everything. Storytelling, pencilling and colouring (and money if possible...).

Haha, oh, I feel your pain. You're not considering going back to the game industry anymore?

Only to make money, but when I think about it, I know it would make me stop comicking and that would be a DISASTER for me. Let me explain: In France, if you want to make a living with comics, you have to keep faith, keep on working for a small salary so that album after album, you get a better salary, plus the royalties from your previous albums. It's just by staying in the ring that you can "become someone" and make a good living with it (it can take 5 or 10 years though, depending on how much success you get...). If I stop, then publishers and readers will quickly forget about me so that when I come back to comics after 2 years, I'll start from the beginning again, you see?

So your goal in comicking is just to get rich and famous?

That's not the goal, but making a little more money (believe me, I am POOR) would help me feel better and have a social life with my friends, go to the cinema and do illustrations, etc., see?

"Bonsai" by BengalYeah, is it your goal then to experiment with characters and storytelling techniques? To see how far you can take a storyline?

That's the point. It's as if… I were a mad scientist seeking a rich, secret Bruce Wayne to give me TONS of money so that I can freely experiment. Hahaha...

No, to tell the truth, I'm absolutely happy to be at the beginning, to find it hard and to dream of all that I will do later. I wouldn't want anyone to give me anything.
